Garage Sale Treasures: Week 11

It's that time of the week again. Yeah for garage sales! :) AND finally some lovely weather too. However, my kids were not in the mood for going. Not everything can go smoothly all at once. If it did I might think that the world shifted off its axis (or my mind...lol). I was also on a 1.5hr time crunch. I had a breakfast date with some of the most amazing ladies (thanks dad for watching the kids!). I think I made out pretty good though for the couple limitations.

Starting with stuff for me. The very first garage sale I went to had these 3 drawer organizers. $5 a piece. Not sure if that would be a good deal for most, but I desperately need them and it sure beats paying $15 a piece. I will always buy organizers, because I can always use more organization in my life. :)
Yeah for mommy purchases! Really nice pair of black peek toe heels, a couple movies (yes Zak, you will watch 27 Dresses with me), and a new shirt. $4
Annabelle's birthday is in September. I think that she will really like a pink/unicorn/flowery theme. $1.25
Random assortment of books. I was pleasantly surprised by the Snowflake Bentley book (about the guy who discovered no two snowflakes are alike) and paid $1 for it. I was also excited about the Why Mosquitoes Buzz in People's Ears for .25! The Toy Story and Race car books were a desperate attempt to appease my kids.....it didn't work today. lol $4.75
Random assortment of stuff. A couple jars to store craft stuffs in 1.50, flower arranging foam 1.00, big bag of beads 1.00, big bag of foam letters 1.00, lacing cards .25 (actually from last week), farm animals .75 (pretty sure it's Discovery Toys).
Finally I found a couple Christmas presents for the kids. I really need to get cracking on that! This book was $1 and will be for Silas. You can't really see in this picture, but it is a puzzle book. Each page has a 12 piece puzzle. It looks like it has never been used....the puzzle pieces have never been removed from the book.
I saw two of these today for the same price, so I decided to buy one. It will be for Asa. It's a Shake and Go racetrack by Fisher Price. It is in excellent condition and works great. It sells for $40 in stores (I think). I found it for $10. I am really excited to play with this on Christmas day.
GRAND TOTAL - $35.50

I should probably get the racetrack picked up and put away before everyone starts waking up from their naps. I'm linking up to My Life on a Taffy Pull - - go and visit whether you have something to share or not. Mrs. Taffy is a wonderful woman and her blog is an inspiration to me! Happy blogging.

  1. Yay for Mommy stuff! I've never seen 27 dresses. It looks like something I should rent when Mr. Taffy has a late night! It's so fun to find party stuff at garage sales, that stuff new is a rip off!

Good job for such a short amount of time!

You have a great weekend too garage sale buddy! :o)

  2. Jess, I totally would have snapped up those organizers as well! We are in bad need of some but I will not pay retail for them. Also they are sooo hard to find at garage sales esp in good condition!

    Whoa, hot shoes! Loving them!

27 dresses, super cute! And mrs. Taffy, I have to watch my chic flicks when hubby isn't home either! Lol :)

I bought those same lacing cards awhile ago at a garage sale. Saving them for birthday present. Love cheap but nice lacing cards! My oldest never tires of them!

And your comments on christmas and the race track made my heart smile thinking of kids playing with their toys on Christmas morning. I also need to start putting away for Christmas. I bought a few clearances items from the dollar spot at target today. Normally I'd just give them to the girls but I'm going to start saving and hiding it!

Thanks for sharing!! This may be the only garage sale fix I get this week! ;)

  3. You had a lot of fun finds this week! The race track looks like a lot of fun! I love the Discovery Toys Animals, and you found the Richard Scarry treasury, too!! We really like ours! 5.00 is a good price for the organizers, I think. Maybe we should have movie night at your house? Mrs. Taffy and I will come over and we can have a girls night-followed by a morning of yard sailing of course. :)
